Introduction :
Kalimantan is rugged and beautiful, but there are few roads with which to explore it. Most locals- and the few tourists who go there use boats as their main means of transportation. These range from large ferry boats to small dug – out canoe – style boats, needed to negotiate the rapids, which at time can be treacherous.
In the wilderness and alongside the rivers, small communities have developed. The people in these communities farm, hunt and fish or harvesting the natural resources which abound, such as gold and sandalwoods.
However, these communities also benefit from having tourist visit. This, I make sure is done with respect and sensitivity to their culture and the environment
Most people come to Kalimantan for an adventure. They don’t mind sleeping “ rough “ on the floor of local’s house or in a longhouse. They have to deal with an entourage of giggling children following them to the bathroom. They are often woken early in the morning by the mosque calling people to pray, or the chickens deciding it’s dawn several hours earlier than they’re used to back home.
But if you explore with me, I can assure you of good food and good company. The tour I offer will be an experience you will never forget.
I have been guiding people in Kalimantan’s more remote areas for the past five years, I have also been designing tours for some of the most respected tours companies operating in South East.
Let me show you all the wonderful things Kalimantan has to offer.

People seem to be so different, when we look at them from distance...different languages, different cultures, different religions and customs...
Yet, traveling can make you see some things with also different eyes.
If you travel like a tourist, you will only watch the world around you like a gigantic postcard. And you will miss the fundamental, the soul of countries and people.
But if you travel like a person, with a humble heart and an open mind, you will notice that, everywhere, people are really so much alike....same sorrows, same dreams, same fears, same wish to be loved...
Because, even though all changes constantly around us, basic and important things remain unchangeable.
So, differences, in spite they are so many, are SMALL ones.
And if you manage to notice that, it will make the real BIG difference.
