My Tours:
|
I offer private tours and accomodation for the local region of the Perigord in SW France, specialising in local activities, cuisine, sites of interest and generally giving people a real flavour of this fantastic region.
The Perigord has a huge range of fascinating cultural and historical sites, (not to mention restaurants and sporting activities) and I provide a comprehensive service which suits individuals, groups and families.

About Me:
|
I am 47 years old, married and have a young daughter. I have been living in the Dordogne for several years and have many years experience in operating tours.
I have worked in several countries and travelled extensively. I started by working as a tour guide for ATI in the USA where I learned the art of running a successful tour.
My approach is to listen to my clients, and then create a tour that is exciting, fun and stimulating and which gives them a real taste of the local region.

My Experiences:
|
When working for ATI tours I once had to take a coach to the battle fields of the civil war, and with a bus load of tourists that only seemed interested in eating, drinking and shopping, I knew it would be a challenge. Especially as it was an 8 hour drive to what was essentially an old town in the middle of nowhere with one museum and an hotel!
But I thought it went ok.
So after the tour I got a call from my boss to ask "what happened in Gettysburg?" and that he wanted to talk to me so I got really worried about what he wanted.
When I phoned him back he siad it was amazing, 80% of the comments on the feedback sheets at the end of the holiday had Gettysburg as their highlight and he wanted to know how I had done it as no one ever had Gettysburg as their highlight, beating Niagra Falls and New York!!
There was no secret, I just did my homework and discovered as much about the civil war and the town as possible and made it fun and interesting for everyone. That's what I do and enjoy.
